Dubstep In Starbucks

February 14, 2012

I’m raising money for my next record on, and they make you put up a video that explains what you’re raising money for.

Instead of doing that, I thought it would be more fun to do things like attempt to break into the Warner Bros music building, and play dubstep in Starbucks.

Click here to see the video. If you want to contribute money towards my record, you can also get dope stuff like an autographed album, a theme song written about you, or a private show in your living room.

Best of 2011

January 2, 2012

As the year draws to a close, it turns out we made a couple “Best of 2011” lists.

Gawker put us on its “Heroes of 2011” along with Alec Baldwin and Barney Frank. We couldn’t be prouder to be on a stranger list.

And Failbook has us at #4 on its Best of 2011 countdown, for… well you know what.

Happy new year, let’s all kill it in 2012.

The cake took on a life of its own. No, really. At some point, the cake became spontaneously conscious and self-aware. I'd been growing wary of the cake's growing mental capacity for some time. But only after catching it on the john with a copy of The Unbearable Lightness of Being was I fully convinced.

I Crashed Paris Hilton’s Birthday And Accidentally The Whole Cake

February 17, 2011

I woke up this morning with a $2000 birthday cake in my living room.

It’s big. It’s red. It says “Paris”.

And its fucking delicious.

24 hours ago I got a call from my well-connected buddy Kevin.

“Dude, I’m crashing Paris Hilton’s birthday tonight. Pretty sure I can get you in,” he says.

“Pretty sure you can’t,” I say.

“Pretty sure I will,” he says.

90 minutes later we’re strolling down a red carpet like we belong there.

If Jeezy’s Payin LeBron I’m Payin Dwyane Wade

September 29, 2010

When I wrote L.A. State of Mind, Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind was in the back of my head spinning on perpetual repeat.

The goal was to create a song as authentic and anthemic to the city of Los Angeles as Empire was to NY.

So often I’d find myself looking at Hov’s lyrics asking, “What’s this really trying to say?”

One of Jay’s lines in particular has become so (in)famous, talked about, and oft-misexplained, I thought it would be worth discussing here.

That line is:

“I got it made / If Jeezy’s paying LeBron / I’m paying Dwyane Wade”
